What’s new in RDASH
This release introduces several major improvements across user management, inventory reporting, machine tracking, and the dashboard.
Improved user management
System Administrators now have a more complete and streamlined way to manage users within RDASH.
What changed
- Added the ability to update user roles after an invitation has been accepted
- Improved visibility into each user’s access and assigned locations
- Added a new digital access card within Settings
- Refreshed the user management interface for better clarity
- Removed unnecessary background polling from the Users page
These changes make it easier to understand and manage who has access to each area of RDASH.
Monthly inventory reports
Authorized users can now generate monthly inventory movement reports directly from the Inventory page.
The report includes:
- Opening quantity
- Quantity added
- Quantity removed
- Closing quantity
Reports can be generated for a selected location and historical date range, then downloaded as a CSV file for reconciliation and accounting workflows.
This feature is available to:
- System Administrators
- Warehouse Administrators
- Finance users
To generate a report, open the Inventory page, select the three-dot menu, and choose Generate Report.
Inventory table preferences now persist
Your selected inventory columns will now remain saved between sessions.
Previously, column visibility settings reset whenever the page was refreshed. RDASH now stores these preferences for each user, so the Inventory page remains configured the way you left it.
A Reset Columns option has also been added to restore the default table layout.
Improved machine tracking
Several updates have been made to improve how serialized machines are displayed and managed.
Machine names and Ref IDs
Machines are now displayed using the following format:
Machine Name (Ref ID: ####)
Serial numbers remain available for scanning and search, while Ref IDs are now easier to identify within the inventory.
Individual machine records
Each physical machine is now treated as a unique inventory item based on its serial number.
This improves the accuracy of:
- Inventory reports
- Sales records
- Machine movement history
- Serialized inventory tracking
Duplicate machine protection
RDASH now checks whether a scanned machine serial number already exists before allowing it to be added.
When a duplicate is detected, the machine will not be added and an error message will be shown.
Updated machine visibility
Serialized machines with a quantity of zero are now hidden from active inventory, while their historical records remain preserved.
Loaner machines remain visible so they can continue to be tracked while temporarily outside regular inventory.
Machines are also excluded from the standard Low Stock card because each serialized machine represents an individual unit rather than a restockable product quantity.
New Loaner Machine status
A new Loaner Machine product status is now available.
Products using this status will display a dedicated amber badge in both the desktop inventory table and mobile inventory view.
The existing Loan status remains available for non-machine products.
Low Stock dashboard improvements
The Low Stock card and dashboard totals now exclude products marked as Inactive.
This ensures discontinued or unused products no longer affect low-stock alerts or dashboard metrics.
More accurate historical reports
Inventory reports will no longer include products that were added after the selected report end date.
For example, a product added today will not appear in a report ending yesterday.
Additional improvements were also made to ensure serialized machines only appear in reports for the period in which that specific unit existed in inventory.
Reliability and code quality improvements
This release also includes a broader cleanup of the application:
- Migrated linting to the latest ESLint configuration
- Removed unused variables and outdated code
- Improved TypeScript safety
- Improved error handling for unrecognized machine models
- Added clearer validation and conflict handling for duplicate products
These changes improve the reliability and maintainability of RDASH while reducing the likelihood of future issues.
